Palestine and Feminist Liberation: Nada Elia

A Book Talk by the renowned Palestinian feminist scholar, Nada Elia.

Nada Elia spoke to the questions and contentions of global anti-colonial struggle and Palestinian feminist practices by elaborating from her books Greater Than the Sum of Our Parts (2023), Palestine and Feminist Liberation (2025), and Falastiniyyat: A Century of Palestinian Feminisms (forthcoming).

About the Speaker

Nada Elia is Associate Professor of Ethnic Studies at Western Washington University. She is the author or editor of six books, ranging from academic titles to organizers’ toolkits. A scholar-activist, she served for many years on the steering collectives of AWSA, (the Arab Women’s Solidarity Association), RAWAN, (the Radical Arab Women’s Activist Network), and INCITE! Women of Color Against Violence, and is a past president of AMEWS, the Association of Middle East Women’s Studies.

Elia is a member of the Palestinian Feminist Collective.
