Cultural, Social and Environmental Responsibility in PR
Public relations professionals do more than promote a message. They influence how organizations impact communities and uphold ethical standards and goals.
In this course, you’ll examine the role of social responsibility in organizations and explore how PR practices contribute to equity, inclusion and accessibility. You’ll analyze real-world campaigns in relation to Truth and Reconciliation in Canada, while also developing the ability to identify and manage implicit bias and engage effectively with diverse communities. Through applied examples, you’ll learn how PR can be used to build trust, strengthen inclusion, and support positive social and environmental outcomes. You’ll also explore how organizations measure and assess their social, economic and environmental impact to support more accountable and responsible communication practices.
Whether you work in a corporate, nonprofit or community-based setting, this course will help you apply a thoughtful and socially aware lens to your communication practice.
The final assignment for this course is due one week after the course ends.
