Dr. Claudia Diaz-Diaz (she/her/hers) is an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Education at Simon Fraser University. Her research focuses on social movement learning and women-led grassroots organizations working at the intersection of climate and gender justice, with a special focus on Latin American contexts. She works in long-term collaboration with women water and land defenders, centring their knowledges as educators and political actors to amplify their theories of change and advance community organizing.
Her work draws on decolonial and feminist frameworks, community-engaged research, and critical qualitative methodologies. She is the Principal Investigator of Pedagogies for Climate and Gender Justice, an SSHRC-funded project, and has sustained research partnerships with women's grassroots organizations in Chile.
