Faculty of Education

Dr. Isabelle Côté's teaching interests and expertise are in the French pre-service and in-service teachers' programs. She is interested in teachers’ representations of notions of cultural diversity, and how those notions influence the ways they teach cultural diversity in their classrooms in Core French, French Immersion and Francophone Programs. Another area of interest and expertise is in Social Studies curriculum and instruction. Her doctoral research focused on the integration of Indigenous perspectives in the French Immersion program (K-12) in British Columbia. More recently, she has worked with the self-study methodology to examine her own teacher identity and how it shapes her teaching practice.
