FAS Alumni Honoured at 2026 Outstanding Alumni Awards

Two Faculty of Applied Sciences alumni have been recognized with SFU Outstanding Alumni Awards, celebrating their exceptional contributions to the industry and the community.

Don Murray, CEO & Co-Founder of Safe Software, received the Lifetime Achievement Award for his more than three decades of leadership in spatial data technology, education and community. Murray has helped develop FME, a globally recognized standard for spatial data integration and guided Safe Software becoming a global company. Known for his people-first leadership, he has also built a value-driven company culture that emphasizes inclusion and shared success.

Igor Faletski, CEO & Co-Founder of Superpilot and former CEO of Mobify, received the Visionary Award in recognition of his entrepreneurial leadership and impact in the digital commerce and emerging technology. Today, Faletski continues to explore the future of commerce, dedicated to driving innovation and impact in the rapidly evolving field of commerce marketing.

After graduating from the School of Computing Science, Murray and Faletski have remained actively connected to SFU through mentorship, co-op opportunities and philanthropic support. Their achievements reflect the lasting impact of FAS alumni who continue to shape technology and innovation in B.C. and beyond.
