Job opportunity - Officer, Business Development and Contracts, Provincial Health Services Authority, Vancouver, BC
Do you have experience creating and assessing contracts (research contracts, sponsored agreements and confidentiality agreements), negotiating with vendors and building relationships with internal stakeholders? We are actively recruiting for a temporary Contracts Officer to help support our intellectual property department. If you have previous administrative and project coordinator experience in industries such research, legal and sciences we want to hear from you!
Job Summary
In this role you will have the opportunity to:
- Help us draft and negotiate contracts and agreements (including non-disclosure, bio-material transfer, collaborative research, sponsored research, service, and license agreements.)
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders such as Clinicians, Researchers, Risk and Legal to determine the best contract type and identify potential encumbrances.
- Help researchers and clinicians identify and protect organizational Intellectual Property (IP).
Qualifications
- Education, training, and experience equivalent to Bachelor’s degree in Science or Business
- 2+ years of experience in industry or technology transfer office
- Equivalent of combination, education, training and experience
Skills and Abilities
- Proven, effective written and oral communication skills.
- High attention to detail and strong critical thinking skills
- Functional knowledge in at least one area of technical or scientific expertise
- The ability to travel.
