Job Summary
We are looking for a research assistant who can work 8 - 16 hrs a week. We work on various projects related to topics within population health. Depending on the project, your tasks will include:
- Conducting literature reviews, environmental scans, and cross-jurisdictional reviews related to research areas on a wide range of public health-related topics (project dependent)
- Assisting with writing proposals and reports
- Assisting in data collection tool development and data collection (key informant interviews, surveys, focus groups)
- Assisting with data analysis and synthesis
- Assisting in the development of knowledge translation materials
- Compiling project information, files, documents
Supervision
The successful applicant will work with and report to the Project Manager, Research Director, and CEO.
Qualifications and Experience
We have a dynamic, supportive team that is there to help you grow and learn. The below list of qualifications is ideal, but don’t feel discouraged if you don’t tick all the boxes.
- An undergraduate degree
- Experience in conducting literature reviews
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent writing skills
- Proficient in Excel
- Experience analyzing quantitative data using R, SPSS, SAS
- Experience analyzing qualitative data using NVivo or MAXQDA
- Experience in evaluation is an asset
- Familiarity with community-based research is an asset
- Previous experience working in healthcare, climate change, and/or the education sector
