Job Opportunity - Health Economist Researcher, Roots to Thrive

May 09, 2022

We are looking for a health economist researcher / grad student.

Roots To Thrive (rootstothrive.com) is a non-profit program providing resiliency therapy through psychedelic assisted therapy and community support to health care workers and first responders with PSTD, Depression, Anxiety, Compassion Fatigue and other mental health challenges.

Our success rates are published in this article: https://www.frontiersin.org/articles/10.3389/fpsyt.2021.803279/full

Those successes include:

91% saw improvements in generalized anxiety

79% saw improvements in depression

86% of those who screened positive for PTSD now screen negative

92% had significant life/work functionality improvement

The program is currently NOT funded by provincial medical services. Insurance companies are starting to recognize that this program may be a significant system cost saver.

We are looking for a Health Economist researcher who would be willing to collaborate with the Roots To Thrive program and research team to analyze and publish on the cost savings  to the "medical system" of our program based on our results we have gotten thus far.

If you are interested or can share with others who may be interested we would love to hear from you at Tamara.Pearl@viu.ca
