Tania Bubela’s term as dean in the Faculty of Health Sciences has been renewed for another five years.

Tania is an energetic research leader who shows progress and humility in reconciliation initiatives within FHS and outside of the faculty, and has the strong confidence of her faculty members.

“I can also attest to what a terrific partner she has been to work with on designing a medical program for SFU,” says Catherine Dauvergne, vice-president, academic and provost.

Tania says she is “looking forward to continuing to bring faculty, staff and students back to campus as we navigate the post-COVID post-secondary environment together; welcoming new faculty and staff; strengthening our Indigenous and equity, diversity and inclusion initiatives; strengthening our interdisciplinary research; building new partnerships; and advancing curricular reform and experiential learning opportunities for our students."

Tania has been with SFU since 2017 when she joined SFU from the University of Alberta, where she was a professor and associate dean research in the School of Public Health and an adjunct professor in Alberta Business.
