This roadmap is here to guide you through what’s ahead—key dates, deadlines, and events as you prepare for your first day of classes in August. Information on activities such as enrolment and orientation will be shared in the coming weeks. Please check back to this roadmap regularly for updates.
Over your transition into the MD Program, you will be kept up-to-date through:
- Get Started MD Newsletter (ongoing) - A newsletter delivered to your inbox regularly.
- Learner Portal (July) - The Learner Portal will keep you informed and connected to events, services, and resources to support your journey into and throughout the program.
June
SFU computing ID & MFA
Activate your SFU Computing ID. You'll need your computing ID to access Pre-Orientation materials in mid-June: Student Handbook, MD Program Forms, and the Learner Portal.
After you activate your SFU ID, access goSFU (SFU’s student information system) to review and update your personal information.
→ Make sure to add your Social Insurance Number.
Remaining Post-Acceptance Requirements
June 30: Don’t forget to complete your next set of June post-acceptance requirements through the ApplyMD Portal.

Clinical Placement Ranking Form to indicate your clinical site preferences for Year One. Without this, you cannot be matched.

Learning with Vida Nova Course
June 30: VidaNova is the primary learning platform used throughout the MD program. This short introductory module will orient you to the system and help you navigate key features essential for your learning.
Financial Aid
Applications for government financial assistance, including loans and grants, open in mid-June through StudentAidBC. Students normally apply for funding on a term-by-term basis. Visit the Financial Aid and Awards website to learn more.

POST-ACCEPTANCE REQUIREMENTS
July 27: Don’t forget to complete your July post-acceptance requirements through the ApplyMD Portal.
