NDP's Bowinn Ma Responds to Sexist Comments from B.C. Liberal MLA

On October 10th, 2020, a video was shared online of a virtual roast of retiring B.C. Liberal MLA Ralph Sultan. During that September 17th event, B.C. Liberal candidate Jane Thornthwaite said that NDP MLA Bowinn Ma sat close to Sultan and used her appearance to appeal to him at a networking event.

The video sparked outrage and Thornthwaite and Liberal leader Andrew Wilkinson issued statements apologizing for their behaviour. In this video, Bowinn Ma and NDP leader John Horgan make statements about the incident, and Professor Genevieve Fuji Johnson also weighs in on the controversy.
