Internship, Spring Semester 2021 (January through end of April with possible extension)

NATO Field School and Simulation Program

Renumeration: maximum $5,000 (hours will be flexible)

Probation period will be applied

NATO Field School and Simulation Program is running a 100% Virtual NATO Field School (VNS) in the summer semester of 2021. To prepare for this program delivery, we are looking to hire an intern to assist the Program Manager.

The intern will assist the Director and Program Manager with the following tasks:

  • Student inquiries and application process
  • Program planning and development
  • Guest speaker scheduling and invitations
  • Zoom facilitation of both synchronous and asynchronous events for the VNS
  • Technical and administrative tasks
  • Assist in budgeting and management of Field School funds
  • Assist in grant application process
  • Work with ISS and POL staff to promote VNS on digital platforms
  • Additional work may be assigned as required

Qualifications: graduate or senior undergraduate student in political science, international relations or related field

Preferred: experience in or familiarity with the NATO Field School and Simulation Program

The person must be resident of B.C. This is a remote position and can be done from home, provided the person has good computing and connection facilities. The person should be willing to learn to work independently, be flexible in work hours, be willing and able to work under pressure and/or tight deadlines and should have good inter-personal skills.
