Conference funding requests
BPK considers funding requests for support towards hosting conferences. Conference funding requests must be approved in advance of the proposed conference and are not guaranteed. It is expected that other sources of external and/or external funds will have been sought and approved ahead of a request for BPK conference funding. Requests for funding should be emailed to bpk_chair@sfu.ca and copied to bpkcs@sfu.ca and will be considered once per term with deadlines for submissions of January 31st, May 31st, and September 30th. Conference funding requests will be reviewed by the BPK Chair who will decide what level of funding, if any, is to be provided within 1 month of the submission deadline. The following criteria will be used in consideration of each funding request.
Criteria for evaluation of the funding request
Expected benefit to BPK: Number and diversity of BPK members who would participate.
Extent of engagement with external stakeholders / partners.
Other sources of funding: Range and extent of funding committed from other SFU and/or external sources.
Amount requested Amount requested relative to the total budget of the conference.
Impact of the funding: What the BPK funding will be used for in support of the conference.
