Study Permit Delays

Who should I contact about course planning and/or the availability of remote courses?

International Student Advisors provide non-academic advising to students from international pathways.  Visit our website for more information about the services and support we provide.

For academic guidance, please connect with the appropriate advising team:

  • Undergraduate Students: Contact an Academic Advisor to discuss course planning, program requirements, and the availability of online courses.
  • Graduate Students: Reach out to your Graduate Program Assistant or Supervisor.

Please note that most SFU courses are currently offered in person. If you're considering remote study, we encourage you to think about:

  • The availability of online courses in your program
  • Time zone differences
  • Your comfort and adaptability with online learning

Remote study may not be a viable option for all students, so it’s important to plan ahead and seek academic advice early. Please also review our FAQ "Can I start my program online from my home country if my visa is delayed?" for immigration considerations about studying remotely.
