Body cameras, live streaming bring search and rescue into the next generation
New digital tools developed and tested at SFU have the potential to revolutionize wilderness search and rescue efforts. Developed at SIAT, the RescueCASTR system equips rescuers with 360-degree body cameras that send video and photos back live to a central command post.
Research taps AI to develop virtual efficiencies for industry
Researchers are using virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) to enable crews to ‘walk’ around a virtual airplane engine and assess its flight performance remotely, using simulation and sensors added to real aircraft engines.
