Carman's research
Dr. Neustaedter's research is in the field of human-computer interaction. He studies social culture, user behaviors, group collaboration, and ubiquitous and mobile technology design. This has involved studying, designing, and evaluating a range of technologies including communication, coordination, and gaming systems. His work tends to span many disciplines including computer science, social psychology, sociology, and cultural anthropology. Dr. Neustaedter's books, Connecting Families: The Impact of New Communication Technologies on Domestic life and Studying and Designing Technologies for Dometic Life: Lessons From Home document key portions of his research and methodological practices.
The Connections Lab
The Connections Lab (clab) is a collection of graduate students and research assistants that studies the design and use of technologies aimed at supporting the everyday activities of families, co-workers, and community members.
